Béké-BoBo is, first and foremost, a beautiful love story!
It was in 1999 that Maggy-Nadyne, an engineer by training and used to looking for solutions, began researching for a natural way to relieve her 18-month-old daughter, who had just endured an operation. She developed an organic cereal blend which had anti-inflammatory properties, which she then inserted into a piece of cloth shaped like a bear. Once heated, it proved to be very effective for her child. This was the moment the Béké-Bobo teddy bear was born. For several years it served as a fundraising method, to provide her daughter with the care she needed. In 2006, Béké-Bobo was incorporated and other products were created, all developed from Maggy-Nadyne’s personal experiences. Her daughter has grown up well, as have the teddy bears, who now travel the world.
The birth of therapeutic bears
After several weeks, I developed a cereal mixture which, once heated in the microwave for 30 seconds, could reduce inflammation through the humidity it released.
It was obvious to me that I had to create a teddy bear to insert the cereal into so that she would adopt it like a cuddly toy.
It was magical!
For the first time in her life, she was relaxed and relieved. She was smiling at me! What happiness! After a few days, the news had spread through the corridors of the hospital where she had stayed regularly since her birth. Sales started and I became the first teddy bear engineer on the planet.
25 years later... 1 in 3 children in Canada have a Béké-bobo
Today my daughter is 27 years old and lives very well with her condition thanks to the therapeutic teddy bear that she still uses. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished with this brand that has now been around for 25 years. I continue to create new products to provide relief in a natural and ecological way, to allow customers like you to offer comfort and relief to their loved ones. It is thanks to parents like you that the Béké-Bobo therapeutic bear has become this great success in Canada. Currently, 1 in 3 children have their own teddy bear!
